Black Cherry and Quilted Maple Stave Bowl with Lid
This lidded bowl is made from 32 staves of black cherry and maple. The top and bottom rings are alternating layers of cherry and maple with the grain running in perpendicular directions (like plywood) to alleviate expansion and contraction. The lid is turned from a single piece of quilted maple. The new-moon shaped pull is also made of cherry and maple. The bowl and lid are protected by many coats of a durable polyurethane which was hand-sanded between coats.
Dimensions: 7″ overall height, 7-3/4″ at widest point, 3-3/4″ lid opening, and 4″ wide at the base.
Use and Care Instructions: Dust and fingerprints can be removed with a soft cloth. No other maintenance is required.
